Canon has produced the imageClass MF6550 to improve the productivity and cost effectiveness of the modern office. This single machine combines the features of a monochrome laser printer, color scanner and digital copier along with a fax machine into one attractive package. A 500 sheet paper tray provides printing stock for the MF6550. This tray holds a full ream of paper. The automatic document feeder will hold 50 originals and can reproduce them in full duplex mode.

The main paper tray holds 500 sheets (a full ream of paper). This capacity allows for simple loading and less down time thus increasing productivity. A copious paper tray is a necessity for the MF6550 since it prints at the rate of 23ppm. This 23ppm is accomplished with a print resolution of 1200 X 600 dpi.
The MF6550 is a duplex scanner. Fifty documents, printed on both sides can be loaded into the automatic document feeder. When duplex scanning is selected both sides of the original will be scanned and either printed in duplex mode or faxed out to a recipient. Once the documents are loaded and duplex scanning is selected, there is no further need to turn the documents to scan the opposing side.
The fast modem in the MF6550 utilizes Super 3G (33.6bps) technology. This modem sends and receives documents in minimal time. Document reception is a snap with a memory that will store 256 pages. No document is too large to be received by the MF6550. There will be no concerns with a partial fax being received due to the large memory of the MF6550.
The toner cartridge that fits the MF6550 is the Cartridge 106. This toner cartridge will supply toner for 5000 sheets. This toner cartridge is the cartridge that you receive when you buy a MF6550. No starter cartridge is supplied. The standard cartridge is what you get when you purchase and install an MF6550.
The color scanner scans images and documents in at 9600 X 9600. These images and documents can be managed and stored using NewSoft
